Pecan Pie Brownies

PIES AND TACOS

These Pecan Pie Brownies are the perfect fusion of rich, fudgy brownies and the classic flavors of pecan pie.

Let's start with the batter! Melt the unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate together. Once melted and combined, whisk in the granulated sugar until fully dissolved. Next, add the large eggs one at a time.  Stir in the teaspoon vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined. Gently fold in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Pour the brownie batter into your prepared pan, spreading it into an even layer with an offset spatula.

While the brownie batter bakes, prepare the maple pecan caramel topping. Combine the chopped pecans, unsalted butter, maple syrup, brown sugar, corn syrup (if using), and salt. Boil the mixture, then let it simmer.

Once the brownie layer has baked, remove it from the oven.  Immediately pour the warm pecan caramel topping over the brownies.  Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes.

Remove the pan from the oven and let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Slice into squares and serve. For the best texture, allow the brownies to sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes before serving.

It’s perfect for holiday gatherings or when you want to impress your guests with something a little different but still cozy and familiar!
