Notes
How to Make Simple Syrup:
Combine ½ cup sugar and ½ cup water in a small saucepan.
Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Remove from heat and let cool completely before using.
Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for several weeks.Substitutions & Adjustments
White wine: Pinot Grigio keeps this crisp, but Riesling or Moscato will make the drink naturally sweeter without extra syrup.
Vodka: Substitute gin for a more herbal note, or use orange-flavored vodka to boost citrus flavor.
Grand Marnier: You can swap in Cointreau, Triple Sec, or another orange liqueur. Grand Marnier is richer; others will be lighter and slightly drier.
Simple syrup: Honey syrup (equal parts honey and water, warmed to dissolve) works well if you want a softer sweetness.
