Strawberry Puff Pastry Braid

This Strawberry Puff Pastry Braid is a bakery-style dessert.

Beat softened cream cheese and sugar in a large bowl with a mixer for about 2 minutes, until smooth and fluffy.

Add the egg yolk, lemon juice, and vanilla extract, then beat again until everything is fully combined and creamy.

Spread half of the cream cheese mixture down the center, leaving about an inch at the top and bottom. Arrange sliced strawberries over the cream cheese.

Begin crossing the strips over one another in a crisscross pattern until you reach the bottom, trimming any extra dough to keep the braid neat.

Brush the top using a pastry brush and egg wash and sprinkle generously with coarse sugar for crunch.

Bake for about 30 minutes, until golden brown and puffed. Allow to cool for 10–15 minutes before glazing.

Finished with a drizzle of glaze, it’s as beautiful as it is delicious.
