PIES AND TACOS
This is such a rich and delicious Chocolate Birthday Cake.
In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients. In another bowl, mix eggs, oil, buttermilk, sour cream, and vanilla. Pour wet into dry and whisk until combined.
Then, add the hot coffee (or hot water) to the batter, and stir to combine. Divide between the cake pans
The syrup deepens the cake’s chocolate flavor. Whisk cocoa powder and sugar in a saucepan, then add water and mix until smooth.
Make sure to sift the powdered sugar with the cocoa powder. Beat the butter with the mixer. Add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder.
Add the ganache and the vanilla to the bowl. Mix until combined. The frosting should be silky and smooth.
To assemble the cake, brush the first layer with the syrup. Cover it with frosting. Repeat. Use a smaller spatula to form the spiral effect on the cake. Add sprinkles!
