Chocolate Covered Cherries

  • 10 cherries
  • 70 grams dark chocolate
  • 1/4 teaspoon coconut oil

  • 2 chopped frozen bananas frozen
  • 1/2 cup chopped frozen pears
  • 1/3 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup pitted cherries
  • 2 tablespoons cacao nibs

Chocolate Covered Cherries

  1. Let’s start by making our chocolate covered cherries.
  2. Melt the chocolate along with the coconut oil by microwaving the chopped chocolate for 15 second intervals, and stirring in between, until the chocolate is entirely melted.

  3. Dunk about 2/3 of every cherry in the chocolate. Remove excess by letting it drip. Place on top of a baking tray. Let the chocolate set and dry.

  1. To make the smoothie, place your bananas and pears in the blender, together with the almond milk, and cherries.

  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Taste and see if you’d like to put sweetener in it.
  4. Top with chocolate covered cherries, cacao nibs. There’s gonna be a little leftover chocolate, you can drizzle that over the smoothie. If the chocolate has hardened since then, just slightly re-melt it before you drizzle it.

Recipe Notes

Notes: If you don’t think the smoothie is sweet enough, add a couple tablespoons of maple syrup to it. My bananas were very sweet and so were the cherries, so I skipped the maple syrup.
