How to make Alfajores

Alfajores are Argentinian cookies made out of cornstarch, filled with dulce de leche

The dough is simple to make. Once rolled it can be cut into different shapes. The most traditional shape is round

After cutting the cookies, make sure to place them in the fridge for a bit before baking to help them retain a nice shape while they bake

Place the dulce de leche in a piping bag and pipe it in the cookies once they are baked

Then place another cookie on top. And you can leave them like that or decorate them

You can dip the cookies in chocolate, drizzle them with chocolate on top, or roll the sides in shredded coconut

My favorite way to decorate alfajor cookies is to drizzle chocolate on top
