Alfajor Recipe

This alfajor recipe is delicious and easy to make!

Alfajores are cornstarch based cookies filled with dulce de leche. They were created in Argentina but are very popular across Latin America.

The alfajor cookie dough consists of butter, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla, almond extract, all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.

Use a cookie cutter to cut dough rounds and bake them until golden.

Fill the cookies with dulce de leche. It's easier to place the dulce de leche in the piping bag,

I like to drizzle melted chocolate over the cookies.

But you can also roll the sides in shredded coconut, dust powdered sugar on top of the cookies, or dip them in melted chocolate.
